War in Ukraine

When Leaders’ Egos Outweigh the Value of Human Life

The war between Russia and Ukraine is far from an ideological clash or a legitimate dispute over sovereignty. It appears to be a battle of egos between two authoritarian leaders, each more focused on asserting power than preserving lives. On one side stands Vladimir Putin, a seasoned autocrat skilled in deterrence, willing to sacrifice Russia’s economy for a show of force. On the other, Volodymyr Zelensky, a former comedian turned wartime leader, seems more invested in cultivating his image as a global martyr than in pursuing real diplomatic solutions.

The Collapse of Dialogue and the Hypocrisy of Peace Deals

Both sides have repeatedly violated ceasefires, dismissed negotiations, and committed war crimes with chilling consistency. Civilian bombings, the use of banned weapons, and strategies turning entire cities into ruins are not exceptions—they are the norm. As soldiers and civilians perish, Putin and Zelensky remain unmoved, as if human life were just a pawn in their power games.

The Cynicism of Global Powers

Behind the war lies the perverse support of major international players. The U.S. and European Union finance Ukraine’s resistance—not out of altruism, but to weaken Russia at any cost. China, in turn, provides strategic support to Moscow, ensuring the conflict drags on while it reaps geopolitical benefits. None of these countries are genuinely committed to peace—they all profit, directly or indirectly, from the ongoing massacre.

There Is No Right Side in This War

When children are buried beneath rubble, when soldiers are tossed like cannon fodder into frozen trenches, when entire families are wiped out in the name of “strategic interests,” any sense of justice dissolves. What’s really at stake? Territory? Natural resources? Cultural identity? Nothing justifies the scale of destruction and suffering inflicted.

A World Built on Corpses

Each announcement of “peace talks” brings new impossible demands and artificial obstacles. There is no pursuit of peace—only the perpetuation of war, fed by the pride of two men who would rather see a nation in ruins than admit defeat. Meanwhile, the world watches—cheering one side or the other—marching indifferently toward a new world order built on corpses.

There are no heroes in this story. Only victims.
